Byvda31
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 ¼ cups buttermilk
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly flour or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: Combine Dry Ingredients
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Step 3: Add Wet Ingredients
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in the buttermilk and gently combine using a fork until a soft dough forms.
Step 4: Knead the Dough
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead gently a few times to form a round loaf. Avoid over-kneading to keep the bread tender.
Step 5: Shape and Score
- Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet. Using a sharp knife, cut a deep “X” on the top, about an inch deep, to help the bread cook evenly.
